Lithium has long been known for its benefits in mood stabilization but, at high doses, can cause side effects like kidney damage. This newer formulation uses microdosing techniques, reducing side effects while still promoting neurogenesis and reducing tau and amyloid-beta accumulation—two hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease.
